We welcome high school students in Grades 10 to 12 to volunteer with our French Homework Help and French Reading Buddies Programs!
We will have two orientation sessions in January:
- Wednesday, January 17,2024, from 6-7 p.m.
- Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 5-6 p.m.

This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your leadership skills and complete your community hours speaking French.
Join the fun and support students in Grades 1 to 6 virtually. The program will run for six weeks from February 6 to March 28 (excluding March Break) on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays evenings from 6-8pm. Each child can be registered for one 30-minute session for either French Homework Help or French Reading Buddies.
Youth Leader Volunteers are mentored by Teacher Candidates from Nipissing University or an Ontario Certified Teacher. Here are the program descriptions:
- French Homework Help is a virtual program for students in Grades 1-6 enrolled in Core French, Extended French, and French Immersion. Students can bring their French homework and take part in a 30-minute session with a high school student. Please note that each student will work one-on-one with the homework helper.
- French Reading Buddies is a virtual program for students in Grades 1-6 enrolled in Core French, Extended French, and French Immersion. Students will read books and practice their reading skills in a 30-minute session with a high school student. Please note that there will be between 2 to 3 students in each reading group.
