Benefits for CPF Chapters and Teams
CPF Chapter and Team members are champion volunteers! They help strengthen French as a Second Language (FSL) education in Ontario. They are our lifeline, connecting the CPF Ontario Branch to schools and communities throughout our immense province. They are parents, educators, retirees, postsecondary students, and working professionals who have one shared goal: to boost French experiences in their region.
If you are thinking of creating or joining a CPF Chapter or Team, you’ve come to the right spot! Here, you can discover their many benefits:
- Chapters and Teams have access to grants to encourage and sponsor extracurricular French experiences for youth.
- Funding is available through an incentive-based system to receive grants for specific initiatives. Ask the Branch for details!
- Chapters/Teams gain advance notice on French programs and events offered through partner organizations;
- they have access to CPF brochures, posters, and postcards to promote FSL and CPF programs.
- Chapters/Teams have direct access to CPF Ontario’s knowledgeable staff and volunteer network. This helps especially when they are advocating for FSL issues.
- They are given workshops on how to roll out local French activities (i.e. reading buddies, movie nights, tutoring, camps).
- Chapter and Team members get to meet like-minded people at CPF Ontario’s Family Events and Network Conferences!
Meet one of our Chapter Leaders
I began volunteering with CPF as a teacher. My local Chapter provided wonderful support for both myself and my students in purchasing French resources and organizing fun French activities. Now that I have children of my own in the French Immersion program, I am glad my involvement has continued and that I've had the opportunity to learn more about the supports available from the Branch and National office. Volunteering with CPF has brought me a lot of enjoyment as I see the excitement my children and students have with new resources and various events! I also love the adult connections I've made through my involvement!
