GREAT NEWS!!! School Members can apply for up to $1,000 to cover a French/Bilingual performance or program

French Enrichment Grants Available for our School Members (AMO’s), Anywhere in Ontario, February 1, 2024—Canadian Parents for French, Ontario announces that its school members can apply for a grant of up to $1,000.00 towards an in-person or virtual Sociocultural performance, program, or workshop! Thanks to funding from the Ministry of Education, schools that are members of CPF can apply for funds for French enrichment events. APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 15, 2024. Schools are encouraged to apply ASAP and must hold the event before May 15, 2024.

1. Encourage your school to apply ASAP, as they are issued on a first come, first served basis!

Even though the application deadline is: April 15, 2024, there are a limited number of Sociocultural Grants available.

2. Consider, then choose which French-speaking Artist you would like to book for your French/Bilingual performance/workshop.
3. Make sure your French/Bilingual performance/event happens before May 15, 2024.
4. Complete the application form, entering as much information as possible (about the French-speaking Artist and performance/workshop you would like to book) into the CPF ON Sociocultural Grant Application Form for Schools (AMOs).

    • A production of DU THÉÂTRE FRANÇAIS DE TORONTO (TfT). TfT is a company performing repertoire and new work for Francophones and Francophiles. It promotes and presents theatrical vitality to the various communities and school networks it serves.

En attendant le retour du beau temps [While waiting for better weather], il partage [he shares French American fables and tales with everyone in the cabin] avec les occupants du refuge des contes et légendes de l’Amérique française ».
    • Performance targets: Grades 1-4 | Ages 6-10 | 45-60-minute performances offered throughout the entire school year.

2024 Sociocultural Grant Application for Schools (Associate Member Organizations-AMOs)

  • To help enrich the programming for students learning French in schools across the province, Canadian Parents for French (CPF) Ontario will subsidize the cost of a Virtual or In-person performance/workshop/program by up to $1,000.00.
  • Associate Member Organizations are encouraged to book a French cultural enrichment workshop or interactive performance during the school day.
  • To apply, your school must be a member of Canadian Parents for French (an Associate Member Organization).
  • Grant recipients are required to provide feedback on the event and ask students to rate performers on FrenchStreet.ca where applicable.
Application Guidelines (Step-By-Step Process for applications, once your school has applied):
  1. Teacher/Principal submits request to CPF Ontario with details- name of artist/performer, date, type of event, time, cost and target audience.
  2. Once approved, please upload a copy of the invoice to rsutherland@on.cpf.ca CPF Ontario can pay the invoice ($,1000.00 max.) directly to reduce administration required by the school.
  3. CPF Ontario will provide a short feedback form for the teachers to complete following the event.
  4. Schools are encouraged to:
    1. Recognize CPF Ontario as a sponsor of the performance.
    2. Share highlights of the French Enrichment Opportunity on Social Media and with communications@on.cpf.ca.
