Canadian Parents for French (CPF) applaudit la nomination de Carl Bouchard comme Commissaire aux services en français de l’Ontario au Bureau de l’Ombudsman

Toronto, 5 décembre 2023— Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) se réjouit de la nomination de Carl Bouchard en tant que Commissaire aux services en français au Bureau de l’Ombudsman de l’Ontario (Paul Dubé).
M. Bouchard connaît bien l’état de l’enseignement du français langue seconde en Ontario, de même que le mandat de CPF Ontario qui est de créer et de promouvoir des occasions d’apprendre et d’utiliser le français. Nous le considérons comme un champion du bilinguisme de langue officielle dont le travail vient répondre à la demande de services bilingues dans la province tout en soutenant la population franco-ontarienne.
M. Bouchard occupait le poste de Commissaire par intérim depuis le 3 mars 2023 et, auparavant, il dirigeait l’Unité des services en français au sein du Bureau de l’Ombudsman en tant que directeur des opérations depuis février 2020.
Diplômé en journalisme de l’Université d’Ottawa, M. Bouchard a travaillé pour divers organismes médiatiques, dont le Groupe Média TFO et CBC/Radio-Canada, où il a produit et diffusé des nouvelles en Ontario et dans l’ensemble du pays. Il est un fier Franco-Ontarien de longue date, bien qu’il soit originaire de la région du Saguenay-Lac-St-Jean au Québec.
Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) envisage avec enthousiasme le travail que M. Bouchard, à titre de commissaire, poursuivra de manière engagée de servir les communautés francophones de l’Ontario.

Canadian Parents for French (CPF) applauds the appointment of Carl Bouchard as French Language Services Commissioner for the Ontario Ombudsman
Toronto, December 5, 2023— Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) applauds the Ontario Ombudsman’s (Paul Dubé) appointment of Carl Bouchard as Commissioner of French Language Services. Mr. Bouchard is aware of the state of FSL education in Ontario and our organization’s mandate to create and promote opportunities to learn and use French. We consider him a Champion of official-language bilingualism as a pathway to meeting the demand for bilingual services in the province, and supporting the Franco-Ontarian population.
Mr. Bouchard has served as Interim Commissioner since March 3, 2023, and prior to that had led the French Language Services Unit within the Ombudsman’s Office as Director of Operations since February 2020.
A graduate in journalism from the University of Ottawa, he has worked with various media organizations, including Groupe Média TFO and CBC/Radio-Canada, where he produced and delivered news content in Ontario and across the country. Commissioner Bouchard is a proud and longtime Franco-Ontarian, with roots in the Saguenay-Lac St-Jean region of Quebec.
Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) looks forward to Mr. Bouchard serving Ontario’s Francophone communities as a highly-engaged Language Services Commissioner for this province.
