Mississauga, October 9, 2019 – Members of Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) voted in Denise Massie as President at the Branch’s Annual General Meeting held on Saturday, October 5, 2019, in The Blue Mountains.

Denise Massie joined the Board of Directors in 2015 after serving as the President of the Hamilton-Wentworth Chapter of Canadian Parents for French where she played a vital leadership role in that community and served as the co-chair of the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board’s French Second Language Advisory Committee. A believer in parents as partners in their child’s journey toward bilingualism, she brings her knowledge of French as a Second Language (FSL) education, advocacy experience, and professionalism to the position. Denise has two children in the French Immersion program.

My Dang, is the new Vice-President of the CPF Ontario Board of Directors. She is actively working on improving her own French while supporting a strategic plan to develop community partnerships that will engage youth and encourage them to include French in their daily lives.

Wadeed Irfan will be returning in the role of Treasurer. Wadeed is a winner of the Provincial Concours d’art oratoire. A committed volunteer, he served as the Branch youth representative before joining the board in 2018 and becoming an officer.

Jayne Evans, Myron Karpiuk and Christine Rees will serve as directors, adding their expertise in governance, FSL education and administration to the board.
