PATHWAYS TO BILINGUAL SUCCESS VIRTUAL YOUTH CONFERENCE

Presented by Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) and funded by the Ministry of Education of Ontario, this virtual youth conference has a lot to offer! The conference is packed with cultural, educational and inspirational experiences for your Grade 10 to 12 FSL students, and classroom registration is free of charge.

Students will:

  • Meet and interact en français with three great guest speakers.
  • Discover a new approach to career exploration and reinforce the importance and merits of bilingualism.
  • Discover career, post-secondary education, and experiential learning opportunities by visiting our exhibitor expo.
  • Explore the advantages and steps to becoming a French Second Language teacher, with our website SayOui.ca.
  • Enjoy a Traditional Indigenous Hoop Dance and inspiring testimony.

Complete ONE registration form per classroom.

Event Sessions

Join us with your Grade 10-12 class for three 45-minute online sessions en français!

10:00 AM Thursday, Dec 1

We open our event, with guest speaker, JP Michel, who will give students new ways to create their career paths.

10:00 AM Tuesday, Dec 6

Colette Fraser, an experienced FSL specialist, will share her story about the benefits of bilingualism with a focus on her FSL teaching career. She will also help students navigate the Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) website Sayoui.ca

10:00 AM Thursday, Dec 8

Makhena Rankin Guérin is an Anishinaabe and Franco-Ontarian hoop dancer. She will perform and share her inspirational story.

Virtual Exhibitor Booths

A variety of virtual booths (bilingual) connected to careers, post-secondary education, experiential learning opportunities, and cultural activities will be available at our exhibitor expo.

Learning Activities Connected to Curricula

After registration, Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) will provide Minds On, Action, and Consolidation learning activities, ready to use in the classroom. These activities connect the curricula to the messages of the conference.
