At its first virtual conference, Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) honoured three individuals for their resilience and work in support of official language bilingualism.
“It is our pleasure to recognize excellence annually from among our CPF volunteer leaders and among educators and administrators who have had a positive impact on French Second Language learning in the province of Ontario,” stated Denise Massie, President, CPF Ontario. “Because these are unprecedented times, a third award was bestowed this year,” she added.
Deborah Williams (pictured left) received the prestigious Mlacak Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Canadian Parents for French in her volunteer role as leader of the Toronto Midtown West Chapter, coordinating programming and having a positive impact on youth and members for more than 6 years.
Karen Devonish-Mazzotta (pictured right) received the prestigious CPF Ontario McGillivray Award in recognition of her leadership and commitment in promoting the development of French Second Language (FSL) learning in Ontario as a Course Director and a Practicum Facilitator with the Faculty of Education at York University.
