Mississauga, September 9, 2019 – Canadian Parents for French (CPF) applauds the Provincial Government of Ontario for giving a green light to the French university of Ontario, l’Université de l’Ontario français (l’UOF).
With this decision, the Federal Government and the Government of Ontario, notably the Minister for Francophone Affairs Caroline Mulroney, have solidified support for official language bilingualism in the province.
“Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) recognizes not only the innovative French university offering for Francophones but also opportunities that will contribute toward bilingualism of the Ontarian workforce,” stated Denise Massie, President of CPF Ontario. “Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) will be a partner of l’UOF as part of the Francophone Hub for Knowledge and Innovation.” she added.
The bilateral agreement on funding signed by the Federal and Provincial Governments will enable l’UOF to partner with English universities in the region, offering bilingual students access to French programming, professional designations, and academic certificates.

Mississauga, le 9 septembre 2019 – Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) salue le gouvernement de l’Ontario qui a donné son feu vert à l’UOF.
Avec cette décision, le gouvernement de l’Ontario, et notamment madame la ministre Caroline Mulroney, témoignent de leur engagement envers le bilinguisme dans notre province.
« Canadian Parents for French (Ontario) reconnait que l’UOF va non seulement offrir une formation universitaire innovante aux francophones de l’Ontario, mais aussi ouvrir des opportunités pour élargir le bilinguisme de la main d’œuvre ontarienne », explique Denise Massie, Présidente de CPF Ontario. Elle précise aussi que « CPF sera un partenaire de l’UOF dans le cadre de son Carrefour francophone du savoir et de l’innovation. »
En tant qu’université reconnue et financée par l’Ontario et le fédéral, l’UOF sera en mesure de poursuivre ses projets de partenariat avec les universités de langue anglaise de la région afin d’offrir à ses étudiants bilingues des certificats de compétences professionnelles et académiques en français.
