Four years ago, the Ontario government declared September 25 as Franco-Ontarian Day – a day to “officially recognize the contribution of Ontario’s Francophone community to the cultural, historical, social, economic and political life of the province.”
This contribution goes back more than 400 years! The French were the first to explore and establish settlements in Ontario. Read about the history of the French presence in Ontario.
